  Participate in an Indigenous teaching about story telling.

1. Experience and participate in a smudge
2. Learn about the significance of The Forks as a gathering place for storytelling.
3. Value patient storytelling and how to incorporate it into care.

At the end of this workshop, participants will have a better understanding of the following:

1. Balance of the medicine wheel with an institutional approach to care
2. Making a safe space and time to listen to patient/resident/client stories
3. How systemic racism builds barriers in professional practice
4. Importance of listening to the people who have lived/practical experience in making change.
