Dr. Jacklin is a tenured full professor in the Department of Family Medicine and Biobehavioral Health (DFMBH) at the University of Minnesota, Duluth Campus. She is a medical anthropologist with a focus on dementia and aging in rural and Indigenous populations and has over 20 years’ experience conducting community-based participatory research with Indigenous communities. Dr. Jacklin is the Executive Director of the Memory Keepers Medical Discovery Team (MK-MDT) where she oversees a group of faculty and staff scientists in the pursuit of brain health equity for rural and Indigenous populations. She currently leads two NIH funded research studies concerning dementia in Indigenous populations in Canada and the United States. Dr. Jacklin is the founder of the International Indigenous Dementia Research Network and the Indigenous Cognition Awareness and Aging Awareness Research Exchange (I-CAARE.ca).
